THE MINISTRY OF PRAYER                      PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY

       For thousands of years God’s faithful people have lifted prayers to God! We pray during worship, before and after meetings and before church dinners. We pray for the ministry and mission of our church and the wider church. We pray for those who are neglected by society, for those who are suffering all over the world, and we pray always for peace.
       We pray for our members and for family and friends who are ill or going through difficulties. Prayer is an important ministry of the church; we pray together and we pray individually. Prayer is the on-going conversation we have with God.
       Not only do we pray for the persons on our prayer list, but we also send them cards to inform them they are being remembered in our prayers. . We have received some wonderful notes of appreciation from many of the people who’ve been on our prayer list. We don’t know many of them, but we’ve reached out to them in a time of need and they are very appreciative.
       Recently we’ve expanded our prayer ministry to include a Prayer Shawl Ministry. The Shawls are knitted or crocheted and given to those who are ill and having a rough time. It takes a while to make the shawls so we could use a few more volunteers.   If you would like a pattern for making one, please call the office or see me.
      I am grateful to all of you who participate in our prayer ministry. You have touched many lives and that’s what being the church is all about.
      You should also know that the Church Council lifts up the name of our members in prayer at the beginning of every Council meeting. You are all being prayed for throughout the year.
Through our prayer ministry we are reaching out to others with God’s love. Each of you is a vital part of this ministry. KEEP PRAYING!
